Mina Bárcenas Jiménez (1965, La Habana, Cuba).

Graduada de Maestría en Producción y Enseñanza de las Artes Visuales en la Escuela Superior de Artes de Yucatán, México y de Ingeniería en Sistemas Automatizados de Dirección por el Instituto Superior Politécnico de La Habana, Cuba. Ha realizado estudios de fotografía y diseño gráfico en Cuba y México.

Miembro del Sistema Nacional de Creadores de Arte.

Ha participado en múltiples exhibiciones individuales y colectivas en México y el extranjero. Su trabajo forma parte de las colecciones públicas del Museo de Hacienda, CDMX, México / Lehigh University, Pennsylvania, EE.UU. / Museo Latino de Omaha, EE.UU. / Casa de Las Américas, La Habana, Cuba / Centro de la Imagen, CDMX, México / Centro Fotográfico Álvarez Bravo, Oaxaca, México / Museo de la Ciudad, Mérida, México / Museo de Arte Contemporáneo Ateneo de Yucatán, Mérida / Alumnos 47.

Ha recibido reconocimientos como Premio de adquisición en la II Feria Internacional del Libro de Artista, CDMX y en la VII Bienal de Artes Plásticas de Yucatán; y la Residencia FONCA-Banff Center. Ha sido beneficiaria de los Fondos para las Artes Visuales de Mérida en 2017, 2015, 2013 y del Fondo Estatal para las Artes en 2015, 2006 y 2002.

Es docente en la ESAY, y en Página en Blando.

A graduate of the Masters Program in Production and Teaching of the Visual Arts at La Escuela Superior de Artes de Yucatán (2019) and Engineering in Automated Management Systems from El Instituto Superior Politécnico in Havana (1988). The artist has studied photography and graphic design in Cuba and Mexico.

Member of the National System of Art Creators.

She has participated in multiple individual and collective exhibitions in Mexico and abroad and her work is part of public collections in Cuba, the USA and Mexico. She has received recognition such as the Acquisition Award in the II International Artist’s Book Fair, CDMX, at the VII Biennial of Plastic Arts of Yucatan; and the FONCA-Banff Center Residency.

She has been a beneficiary of the Mérida Visual Arts Fund in 2022, 2017, 2015, 2013 and the State Fund for the Arts in 2015, 2006 and 2002.

She is a teacher at La Escuela Superior de Artes de Yucatan (ESAY), and at Página en Blando.
